Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is making waves in the Indian entertainment industry with his recent release Animal. Co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie has been making the headlines for its misogynistic dialogues and problematic storyline. Having faced criticism for the movie from the viewers as well as the critics, the director recently revealed that his seven-year-old son Arjun Reddy watched the film and liked it. He also divulged into details on how he always gets honest feedback from his family members about his movies.

Considered as one of the highest-grossing A-rated films of 2023, the Animal director opened up about his wife Manisha and son Arjun Reddy’s reaction after watching the film. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, he stated that he made a special hard disc of the scenes that shouldn’t be watched by kids and cut it out. He proceeded to show the newly edited film to his son during the New Year celebration. Quoted by Hindustan Times, he said in Hindi, “We made a hard disc of those scenes which could not be shown, and cut it out. Then we showed a different edit of the film during New Year's. The 42-year-old filmmaker also opened up about whether or not his son liked the film. He stated that his son found the underwear action sequence very funny. He said, “He was saying that the underwear action scene was very funny (laughs).” Talking about his wife’s reaction, Vanga revealed that while she didn’t comment on the portrayal of misogyny in the film, she said that there was a lot of bloodshed. The movie also stars Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, and Triptii Dimri in pivotal roles.
